Bermex benefits

Purchasing a piece of furniture from Bermex is a wise choice when you are looking to acquire unique, quality Canadian wood furniture. Our attention to detail is a daily preoccupation that we take seriously. Each individual element that comes together in the conception of one single piece of furniture is inspected and held up to the highest standard of quality.

Experience the unparallel uniqueness of Birch. Each piece of wood used to create your furniture has its own distinct look and personality, with its own variation in grain and color, so it can never be duplicated as each tree is unique.

Noble Birch

Bermex furniture is made of birch grown in North American forests. Only the best pieces of this wood species, known for its beauty and sturdiness, are used in the making of our furniture.

  • Coming from North America, it is perfectly adapted to our climate
  • Kiln-dried to 7% humidity, to help prevent from any future warping
  • Can be repaired and restored to its original beauty unlike veneer

Bermaguard

  • Catalyzed varnish exclusive to Bermex
  • Engineered by the largest finish manufacturer in the world: Axalta
  • Will protect furniture from most spills and stains

Please note that the catalyzed varnish can take up to 30 days to harden completely. You should be extra careful on using your table for that period of time.

Sustainable Development

Respect for the environment is one of our core values at Bermex.

We have adopted a number of practices to ensure that we maximize the resources we use and reduce our environmental impact.

  • We use non-polluting machinery in our factories, and all our computer equipment is energy-efficient;
  • Recycled packaging materials, recovering wood chips and other pieces of wood;
  • Orders are consonlidated at our distribution centre to allows us to send fully loaded trucks.

Of course, we believe that small, everyday actions can make a big difference, such as using paper responsibly in our offices (double-sided printing, recycling) and using lunch boxes and cups made from recycled plastic instead of polystyrene foam cups and disposable bags.

But the best example of our commitment to sustainable development remains our durable hardwood furniture. In fact, your grandchildren may very well use in their first home the same high quality furniture that you are buying today.

Maintenance

Like the environment, your Bermex furniture needs to be nurtured and protected!

A slightly dampened cloth is all you need to clean and retain the daily beauty of your Bermex furniture. Polish it up with a soft dry cloth, No chemicals please! It is so easy and so simple.

Sunlight is one of nature's elements that can cause damaging effects to your Bermex furniture. It is preferable not to expose your furniture to direct sunlight for long periods of time and to leave your table leaf extensions in place as to ensure the uniform aging of your finish.

Humidity levels can also play a factor on the longevity and beauty of natural wood. The lack of humidity causes wood to contract and too much will make the wood expand. A constant fluctuation in humidity can eventually cause damage to your furniture. Keeping your home at a constant humidity level, ideally around 40%, will greatly increase the life and natural beauty of your wood furniture. Avoid placing your furniture too close to heating ducts and air conditioners.

You cannot prevent accidents but you can avoid certain things: It is important to avoid putting any extremely hot or cold objects in direct contact with a wood surface and to immediately wipe away any spilt liquids. These kinds of accidents can cause an immediate discoloration to the wood finish and may cause permanent and irreparable damage. Neither the retailer nor the manufacturer can be held accountable for these kinds of accidents.
